Georges Bay, our 6.83m Stabicraft

The St Helens Marine Rescue Association is a not-for-profit volunteer sea rescue unit based at the Foreshore, St Helens. The Association has had a couple of name changes over the years, but has been operating from the Georges Bay Wharf for more than 20 years.

The Association provides rescue services over an extensive area from Bicheno to Flinders Island and are totally self funded, relying on grants, community support, the Break O’Day Council and donations.

We currently have thirty members who attend regular training sessions. On average our members perform around 50 missions annually, ranging from escorts across the barway to offshore rescue missions in aid of vessels in distress.
